- Newbridge House & Gardens: Built in 1736 for Archbishop Cobbe, this is the ideal setting for a family outing and long walk. Original furniture, paintings and objets d'art are a feature of this gracious Georgian house. The extensive 150h demesne includes a walled garden, a wildlife and Deer Park, playing and walking areas and a 19th Century working farm, where animals, machinery and old farming techniques are on view. A museum of 19th Century rural life is contained in picturesque old buildings around the 18th century courtyard.
- Walks: Guests can enjoy lengthy beach walks on Donabate Beach and cliff walks at Portrane and Loughshinney.
- Historical Sight Seeing: As mentioned above Newbridge House is a very striking historical landmark. Donabate’s Martello Tower sits right beside the hotel which makes very interesting exploring.
Shopping
Donabate provides the essentials and there are number of small boutiques with very unique collections. The Waterside House Hotel has s shop in the summer time that provides all the summer essentials. Every Saturday morning a local market takes place across from the church which offers guests home baked goods and locally grown & prepared vegetables and preserves.
